We don’t have Lipu taro for sale here. What I bought is local taro. This one is taro. I pick the two larger ones, peel them and steam them in a pot until they can fit easily with chopsticks. insert. -

Use a mud press to press it into mud. I did something superfluous. I added some milk and beat it in a blender. It was too thin and then stir-fried until it was thick. Unfortunately, it was not easy to stir-fry. The finished product felt too sticky and had no texture. I suggest that the taro paste should be thicker. -

While the taro is steaming, boil the caramel to make milk tea. Add a little water to a thick-bottomed milk pot, pour in the sugar, and cook over low heat until the sugar melts. Do not stir when boiling sugar. Shake the pot to prevent it from burning. The sugar will bubble as the water evaporates, slowly turning brown in color. -

After the caramel turns brown, pour in the milk and water, then add the tea leaves and cook together. -
5
After boiling, turn off the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. -
6
Filter out the tea leaves and the milk tea will be ready. -

I like to drink hot milk tea. If you like ice, you can add ice cubes or drink it refrigerated.
Tips
1. Taro puree with a little grain may have a better taste. Taro puree that is too fine is a bit sticky and it is a bit difficult to suck it through a straw.
2. I did not add sugar to the chocolate taro puree. If you like it sweet, you can add some sugar, either brown sugar or white sugar.
3. Don’t overcook the caramel, as it will be bitter. If you are unsure, you can skip boiling the caramel and just boil milk + tea leaves to make milk tea.
4. Do not cover the milk tea when making it. It is best to use a deeper pot as the milk will splash into the pot.
5. You can also boil the tea leaves in water first, boil for 5 minutes, then add milk to boil, and simmer for 20 minutes. You can refer to the recipe of "Red Date Milk Tea" on my homepage or public account "Meiji".
